JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure creator Araki’s new year art may have shown the JOJOLANDS protagonist
Hirohiko Araki, the creator, author, and artist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, has created a special JOJOLANDS-themed image to celebrate the new year. Many fans believe the artwork shows a sneak glimpse at the character designs for the future series’ protagonist.
However, this is only a rumor, since the artwork makes no indication of who the protagonist for JOJOLANDS, the 9th JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure installment, will be. Although fans have a notion of who the series’ protagonist could be, no definitive information has been provided as of the writing of this article.
Fans suspect protagonist of JOJOLANDS to be a woman or perhaps a character from one of the previous parts
The aforementioned Hirohiko Araki image, released by the official JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Twitter account, welcomes the new year and the imminent release of JOJOLANDS. The artwork has a blue backdrop with pink and black spikes growing out from the ground and a rabbit that seems to be soaring through the air.
“the JoJo” is written on the rabbit’s body, and “lands” is written underneath it in alternating pink and orange letters. These are designed to be coupled as a reference to the impending ninth installment of the series, which will begin serialization on Friday, February 17, 2023, under the Shueisha branch of publishing.
The face of a new and nameless character, whom many assume will be the protagonist of the future series, is also present on the rabbit’s body. This is backed further by the individual’s finger pointing to the phrase “JoJo” on the bunny, which is the moniker given to the protagonists of each of the series’ parts.
Many fans have shared their conviction that this is the protagonist in the tweet’s comment area. Based on the character’s original look and design, some assume it is a woman. Others speculate that it may be a character from a prior episode of the series, with one common possibility being a guy from Josuke Higashikata’s memories shown in Part 8, JoJolion.
All of this is theoretical, with the sole known fact about the JOJOLANDS protagonist being that they are a descendent of Joseph Joestar. This is referring to the Joseph Joestar from JoJolion, not the Joseph Joestar from the second portion of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Battle Tendency.
